POSITION OVERVIEW
Our client is looking for a hands-on, adaptable, and forward-thinking Safety Manager who can thrive in an unconventional environment. If you're eager, long-term minded, and excited about the challenge of bringing structure and clarity to gray areas, this could be the perfect fit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments in agricultural environments, including confined spaces like chicken houses.
- Develop and implement practical safety talks, programs, and training sessions tailored to field conditions.
- Plan, lead, and execute monthly company-wide safety meetings.
- Maintain and improve documentation processes, including incident reports, SOPs, and best practices.
- Serve as both a proactive safety leader ensuring compliance and proper documentation without sacrificing real-world functionality.
- Collaborate with leadership and field teams to solve problems and implement safety improvements that go beyond "checking the box."
- Provide bilingual communication support during incidents (preferred), or coordinate with translators as needed.
- Travel frequently to various sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
OR equivalent practical experience in safety management, especially in agriculture or manufacturing environments. - Experience with incident documentation, SOP development, and safety audits.
- Bilingual English and Spanish are highly preferred. If not, must be willing to work closely with a translator.
- Licensing (preferred but not required):
- OSHA 30 or 40 Hour Certification
- Certified Safety Professional or Construction Health and Safety Technician
- Skills:
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Detail-oriented with solid documentation and organizational skills.
