POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and purpose-driven General Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of a new, locally run Luxury Guest House on the beach. This one-of-a-kind property will open with 24 or fewer rooms, including three premium beachfront suites and an on-site restaurant. The GM will play a foundational role in building both the operational systems and the team culture from the ground up

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and implement all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) (hospitality, housekeeping, HR, guest experience, etc.)
  • Prepare operational systems for booking, guest services, and inventory
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the guest house and restaurant
  • Ensure a world-class guest experience that reflects the vision of the house
  • Monitor maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of the property
  • Steward all budgets, supplies, and vendor relationships
  • Lead and mentor a cross-cultural team (primarily local and foreign workers)
  • Promote a culture of dignity, purpose, and professionalism
  • Represent the Guest House with excellence in all external interactions
  • Contribute to the long-term sustainability and replicability of the model
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in hotel or guest house management preferred
  • Proven ability to build and implement SOPs
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working in a start-up hospitality environment
  • Values-driven with a long-term view on impact
  • Skills:
    • Skilled in building teams and structures from scratch
    • Committed to developing local and foreign staff with dignity and purpose
    • Able to be on-site prior to opening to prepare for launch
