As the Director of Accounting, you’ll lead a dedicated team, including an Accounting Manager, Contract/Voucher Manager, Client Financial Analyst, and Adult Guardianship Program staff, while collaborating with senior leadership to ensure financial operations align with our mission. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the CFO to manage daily accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Oversee the preparation and timely distribution of financial reports, including regulatory, fiscal, quarterly, and budget reports, as well as monthly and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate independent audits and related external financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, GAAP, and contractual requirements through effective financial record-keeping and accounting systems.
- Contribute to financial projections and analysis to support agency decision-making.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain strong relationships with external parties, including regulatory agencies and funders, to resolve financial reporting and payment issues.
- Provide financial leadership for the charity, including monthly closing processes and reporting to the President & CEO, Finance Committee, and Board.
- Offer strategic and analytical support to the President & CEO and leadership team.
- Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting process.
- Oversee financial management of the adult guardianship program and submission of vouchers to funders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive not-for-profit finance and accounting experience is required. 5+ years of manager or director level finance leadership experience is required.
- Licensing: CPA preferred.

- Must have the credibility to forge strong partnerships with senior leaders across the organization. Must have the ability to interact and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Must have a proven track record of leading projects and teams and managing multiple priorities.
