POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing marketing and sales strategies to reach target customers, including railroad companies, industrial buyers, construction firms, and reclaimed wood dealers. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B sales, lumber or timber industry knowledge, and digital marketing expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and engage potential customers such as railroad contractors, industrial buyers, wholesalers, and construction firms.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in rail, construction, landscaping, and reclaimed wood markets.
- Generate leads, respond to inquiries, and prepare proposals and quotes for bulk orders.
- Conduct cold calls, emails, and site visits to build and expand client relationships.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to maximize profitability.
- Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.
- Identify new product opportunities based on customer demand and market gaps.
- Prepare and present monthly sales reports with revenue forecasts and performance metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience in lumber, timber, or industrial products.
- Experience selling to railroad companies, construction firms, or reclaimed wood buyers is preferred.
- Knowledge of hardwood, softwood, and treated wood applications is a plus.
- Proven track record of lead generation, negotiation, and closing deals.
- Strong digital marketing experience, including SEO, Google Ads, LinkedIn outreach, and website management.
- Ability to travel regionally to meet clients and attend trade events.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Forestry, or a related field.
- Existing network of buyers in the rail, construction, or lumber industries.
- Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and e-commerce platforms.
